Bruce M. Lubarsky

In Memoriam

March 4, 1937 – September 16, 2023

Bruce Lubarsky passed away on September 16, 2023.  After graduating from U.C. Berkeley in 1959, Bruce attended U.C. Hastings College of Law earning his J.D. in 1962.  He had a successful legal career spanning 60 years including positions as a prosecutor in the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, a partner for 30 years at Jackson, Lubarsky, Weiss & Hughes, and an Of Counsel at our firm until his passing.  Bruce was a passionate advocate for his clients and believed in giving back to his community.  Bruce served as Judge Pro Tem in San Mateo County Superior Court and San Francisco County Superior Court and was involved in The Thomas A. Dooley Foundation and later The Edward J. Whelan, S.J. Society and was the President of the Blum Foundation.   

In addition to his illustrious legal career, Bruce was a proud fifth generation San Franciscan who loved living in the “City” and would often regale us with his stories and encounters of living in San Francisco.  He was a proud husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends.  Bruce had a large personality and will be sorely missed by this Firm and all those who knew him.”
