Derek is an associate attorney at Finkelstein & Fujii LLP, where he represents a wide range of clients in real estate and business litigation matters. His practice includes handling disputes for individuals, property owners, and business entities. Throughout his practice, Derek manages cases from initial investigation through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, and settlement negotiations.
Derek is committed to practical, results-oriented advocacy and works closely with clients to develop effective strategies tailored to their legal and business objectives. Before joining Finkelstein & Fujii LLP, he spent years representing both plaintiffs and defendants, giving him a unique perspective on how to effectively navigate both mindsets. Derek received his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California Hastings College of the Law. Mr. Monte is currently a member of the State Bar of California and the San Mateo County Bar Association. Outside of work, he enjoys the Golden State Warriors, 49ers, Giants, Sharks and the Washington Huskies.
